Updated: NDEE presents Understanding Air Permitting Thresholds webinar Jan. 19

The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy will present its Understanding Air Permitting Thresholds webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. This webinar is intended for individuals who are seeking a better understanding of the different air permits needed and required on the basis of emissions or operational controls.

WHO: Pati West, Air Construction Permit section supervisor, and David Christensen, Air Operating Permit section supervisor.

About the webinar: The Understanding Air Permitting Thresholds Webinar will cover the basics of the type of air permit needed when emission calculations are above or below certain emission limits, what it means to be a “No Operating Permit Required” facility, and will discuss requirements under each scenario. The webinar is open to the general public and the regulated community.

About the Presenters: Pati West is the section supervisor for the Air Construction Permit (CP) Section. West has worked in both the public and private sectors in the environmental field and she has been the section supervisor for the CP Section since March 2021. West graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration.

David Christensen is the section supervisor for the Air Operating Permit (OP) Section. Christensen has worked in the environmental field since 1983, when he began work in the private sector until he joined NDEE in September 2009. Since then, he has been a part of the Air Quality Compliance Team for 5 years and has served as the OP section supervisor for 7 years. Christensen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Kearney State College in 1980.
