July 2022 Monthly Metrics



NDEE produces a monthly metrics report to measure what the agency has accomplished; to set annual and longer-term goals; and to examine these goals against accomplishments to ensure continuous process improvements.







Accomplishments
  • NDEE completed the development of eight Local Energy Security Plans to assist local officials and emergency managers address energy emergencies and evaluate infrastructure protection measures in the event of a disaster. The eight local Energy Security Plans cover Nebraska’s 93 counties and 895 communities.
  • Applications for the 2022/2023 Public Water System security grants were mailed to all eligible water systems on July 28, 2022. These grants are available to community and non-transient non-community systems with a population of 10,000 or less, to enhance the security or emergency response capabilities of the system. NDEE will accept applications through September 30, 2022.

Miscellaneous
  • Over the past year, NDEE’s Source Water Grant program has distributed over $100,000 in federal funds to assist communities with projects to protect drinking water. Funds have been granted for projects that range from hydrogeologic assessments, well decommissioning, new well siting, education and outreach, and cost share for best management practices.
