NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE
The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) proposes to reissue, with change, the Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Noah’s Ark Processors, LLC, 1099 W M Street, Hastings, NE (NPP# NE0132919; SIC 2011). This facility is a beef slaughter and fabrication operation. Process and non-process wastewater discharge through Outfall 001 to the West Fork of the Big Blue River, Segment BB3-30000 in the Big Blue River Basin, via the City of Hastings publicly owned treatment works. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet, and other public information are available for review and copying at NDEE’s Lincoln Office, 245 Fallbrook Boulevard, Lincoln, Nebraska 68521 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (CT), weekdays, excluding holidays. Written comments, objections, and/or hearing requests concerning permit issuance may be submitted to Kim Bubb, NPDES and State Permits Section, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, PO Box 98922, Lincoln, NE 68509-8922, before the comment period ending date of December 24, 2021. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
